  • SRI LANKA VISA WAHALA: So I'm here getting all excited, and making mental preparations for my trip to Sri Lanka and Maldives with my friend. After checking my calendar again, i felt 6th of July is a good day to travel because it gives me enough time to apply for my visa when I get to Dubai (visa processing time on the website states 1-2 working days). __________________

As a Nigerian passport holder I don't trust what I see on the website, because most of these countries have "special requirements for Nigerian passport holders" and they can't be bothered about putting that on their website (after all who Nigerians epp😜). ___________________

So this morning I woke up very early to prepare all the application documents for my friend (flight booking, hotel, salary certificate and application form). I emailed everything she needed to her and was waiting for her to call me back with some good news (e.g. I got the visa on the spot, the visa will be ready in 2days and any other story that classifies as good news.) The story was different "NIGERIANS ARE CURRENTLY SUSPENDED from applying for Sri Lanka visa but you can drop your application, PAY THE VISA FEE and hope for the best" Shoo!!!😳🙄 Sri Lanka even you?

When I made my visa prayer point for the year I did not include 3rd world countries🤔, I figured since we are all suffering we might as well show each other brotherly/sisterly love. Apparently I was wrong, some "Nigerian prince" has gone to spoil ground for us there too. Nigerians which way na???
  • A lot has changed since the last time I wrote a post about traveling to Seychelles.
Our president relocated permanently to London😜, Keeping up with Evans became a real thing😅, exchange rate got better(which is the focus of this post). Traveling to Seychelles has become a bit cheaper because the exchange rate is no longer as crazy as it used to be when I wrote my former post.
____________
For most Nigerians if it's not UK, USA or Canada it cannot pepper your village people, I assure you it can. (Slide to see pictures from my trip to Seychelles). _____________
Visa status: Visa free for Nigerian passport holders. (Because y'all can't run away there's no where to hide and most of you can't swim😜). I'm sure a Nigerian hustler somewhere has booked a flight to Seychelles to go and "hustle" only to go back home disappointed😂. _____________
Travel budget.
Flight: (N280,000-300,000) play around with dates on Ethiopian airlines to find a good price.
Accommodation: Use Airbnb (you can find rooms for as low as 25-30usd per night depending on the season). Miscellaneous: 50-100usd should keep you going. Feeding, tours etc

Things to do.
Honestly there's really not much to do in all these island countries.
1. Look at water😂 if you are deep enough you will find inspiration, (if you don't find inspiration you will start to ask yourself deep questions: Did I come this far to look at water?🙄)
2. Take pepper dem pictures with water(because haters). 3. Visit Victoria, the market, see little Ben and also take a walk around the city. It's a really small city.
4. Visit praslin island.
5. Take pictures with really large tortoises on Moyenne island.
  • Made it to my final stop (Paris), before I head back home to Dubai. It's been an amazing 25 days. Too many airports, awesome people, not enough jollof rice. Even though it's my third time in Paris this month, I can't wait to explore this beautiful city with @hanajatravels and eat plenty jollof rice from @chef__jess. .

  • It's my last day in Riga😞, I didn't think I would love this city as much as i did. It also helps that I was able to conclude everything that brought me here😁. I am super excited about heading to my next destination tomorrow. I already bought my bus ticket, it's a 4 hours road trip. Vilnius, Lithuania here I come!!! .

Latvia: Small country in the Baltic region of Northern Europe. One of the 3 Baltic states and also part of the Schengen Agreement (if you want to know more google is your friend, this is not a geography class😜). .

There are a few ways to get residency.
1. Be rich. (Invest 35,000euros in a business and pay 40,000euros in taxes yearly 😳 if you have that type of money to pay as taxes, you probably won't be trying to run away from Nigeria🙄). .
.

2. Be very rich. (Buy real estate worth 250,000euro😳 let's leave that to the Rich Russian mafias😂) ______________________

3. Be very very rich. (Put 280,000euros in a fixed term deposit). ______________________

4. Be smart. (Register or buy a company. Cost: About 3000euros. Employ yourself and pay the right amount in taxes to maintain your residence by paying the minimum amount of tax required to maintain the residency. I will be discussing this below👇🏾). _______________________
Step 1: Buy a company, It is advisable to buy, it is much easier.
Step 2: Get a virtual office, hire an accountant and a lawyer. (Give the lawyer power of attorney to be able to act on behalf of the company). Cost: about 150-200euros monthly.
Step 3: Open a company account. Cost: About 200-300euros.
_________________________
THESE 3 STEPS SHOULD TAKE ABOUT 5 WORKING DAYS.
_________________________
Step 4: Employ yourself. (Yep! You have to employ yourself) Put out a job offer. (You have to do that to prove that no Latvian or Latvian resident applied for the job position you want to employ yourself for). This process should take about a month.
Step 5: Pay yourself salary for at least 2 months to show that your company is functioning.
Step 6: Apply for residency permit. (You have to renew it every year for 5 years, and after 5 years you can apply for permanent residency).
.
.
.

Part 2 will cover the requirements, benefits etc.

I will only respond to questions about this topic in the comment section👇🏾. So if want to hide your travel intentions from your village people by sliding in my DM I cannot epp you. 👋🏽😁👋🏽.
  • LATVIA RESIDENCY: Two years of research, several emails back and forth between a few lawyers and I and a crash course in European taxation for me to decide if it is worth it. Finally, I am here to begin the first step, and I couldn't be happier that in a short while I might be a resident of Latvia and I will be able to travel through most of Europe freely and by freely I mean without a VISA. 😁🙏🏻🙏🏻

  • Rome on a N500,000.
Flight: N300,000 (Royal air Maroc)
Accommodation: (N57,000 lowest price on a sharing basis). Hostels are not so bad you get to meet other like minded traveling and you will most likely spend your time exploring the city. Except you are the typical Nigerian traveler that only travel just to shop😅. Site-seeing, feeding, transportation and others: N143,000.

VISA APPLICATION.
http://www.italy-ng.com/. Documents required are almost the same as France. You can find them on the website using the link above. You can put the documents together and submit your application by yourself if you have all the documents. (No need to pay agents all those exorbitant fees 🙄) the visa fee is 60euros and free for children. Processing time is 15 days (don't count on this tho😏). Also don't forget to do the needful😉😉) _______________________________
THINGS TO DO FOR FREE. * Walk around the city admire the architecture. * Visit piazza barberini and Trevi fountain. * Go and climb staircase😂 (Spanish steps). * Visit the colosseum. If you are on a budget you don't have to enter, it's not that deep. * Visit the Vatican. * See the pantheon. * Visit piazza Venezia.
_______________________________
WHAT TO EAT. * Gelato! Gelato!! Gelato!!!
* Pasta. I had the best pasta at Tridente (it's at the busstop close to piazza barberini) * Pizza * If you like tea just go with your pack of tea. They look at you weird when you ask for tea. 😂
I didn't spend enough time to look for a Nigerian restaurant.

WHAT TO WEAR.
The weather is so hot at this time.
Hats, sunglasses, light clothing should do. And don't forget to cover up if you decide to do the Vatican museum tour.

Please note that I am not a travel agent and this is not a travel package it's a guideline to help you plan your trip without using an agent. Enjoy!!!
  • As someone who has watched all the seasons of criminal minds, I tend to get very paranoid while traveling solo but I'd rather do it afraid than not do it at all. (If you haven't watched it don't bother, that stuff will "injure" your mind). . 📸: @movewithdoyin .

  • VISA GUIDE FOR SELF EMPLOYED INDIVIDUALS.
After your Nigerian boss "show you pepper" you finally decided that the fastest way to get taty billion in your account is to become an entrepreneur. Welcome to the club where your visa struggle is special.
_________________________
As a self employed individual it's usually harder to prove to the consular that you have a genuine source of income and you don't plan to run away. And since you can't just get a letter from your employer you have to take some steps to make your self "visa worthy" (while these steps do no guarantee that you will get a visa it might help make your case better and a little bit harder for the consular to say no. I'm sure some business people didn't do this and they got their visas, but with the hurdles we have to face to get visas as Nigerian passport holders it doesn't hurt if you make sure your application is the best it can be.
1. Register your company.
2. Get a company account.
3. Make sure money from your business goes into your company account.
4. Get a salary account and pay yourself a salary monthly. Get a second account for savings.
5. Prepare a salary certificate for yourself monthly properly typed and stamped.
6. Get a tax clearance certificate. (FIRS have an office in Yaba and Ikorodu if you live in Lagos)
7. Get your personal tax clearance. (Not usually necessary but it doesn't hurt to have it)
8. Write a visa cover letter explaining the purpose of your trip, how you will fund your trip, details of your itinerary, explain details of your supporting documents, and your intent to return back to your country and all the "beautiful things" waiting for you when you return😆🤔. It also doesn't hurt to explain in details how your business will operate while you are on vacation.
9. Ha! Yes, do not forget the most essential of all fasting and prayer. 😂😂
